VINTAGE **~ LAUREL BURCH ~** ** GOLD TONE ** ~ ARCHED BACK & SHARP LINES ~ ** PIN or BROOCH ** "LB" Initials Only ~ Likely an Earlier Piece NO RESERVE! _______________________________ SIZE : This pin measures as follows: 1 & 7/8" in height; 1 & 3/4" width DESCRIPTION : This auction features a vintage Laurel Burch cat pin or brooch. I actually suspect this may be one of her earlier pieces -- if for no other reason than the fact that only her initials of "LB" and a copyright symbol is present. The pin is made up of a very lightweight metal. I actually thought it might plastic at first -- but it is metal and cold to the touch. It just appears to be lighter than most. It is a golden color and bears sharp, jagged lines down the entire middle section (reminds me of lightning bolts!). The cat has his or her back arched up and appears to be either jumping. The tell-tale Laurel Burch cat face is shown, too. There are no names on this piece, but -- as noted above -- it is marked with a "c." copyright symbol and "LB." The safety clasp piece is actually applied to the back of the pin and does have a swivel closure. It would be a great addition to any Laurel Burch collection. Thank you! CONDITION : FAIR ~ I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating . This pin appears to be in Fair condition for the age and use of it. It does have some minor usage wear seen -- mostly in the form of minor surface scratches and some minor gold-tone metal wear. I did note a few more obvious scratches on the front (see pics for this) but -- as far as I can tell -- most of the scratches appear to be more localized to the back of the piece. Additionally there is minor storage soiling seen to the gold-tone metal, but I'll leave any polishing and/or cleaning to the new owner. The safety clasp closure does still open and close securely, as well. Although it could certainly use a gentle cleaning, I do feel it is doing ok overall. I also feel that it has plenty of years of use and wear left in it. If there is anything I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say this pin rates in Fair condition overall.
