Here's a nice collection of 2 Asian Handmade Items: Chanzhou Hair Comb from Jiangsu Province in China and a Tibet Windhorse Prayer Flag Garland. Both are attributed to promoting Good Health. See pictures & Descriptions below. They are in new, unused condition. 1. Changzhou Hair Comb - New, still in package. Lovely Courtesan Girl appears to be playing the Chinese Lute. Measures approx. 6" long x 1-1/2' wide. "Our combs and fine toothed bamboo combs are made of boxwood, nanmu or bamboo with excellent crafts. It has been proved by modern medicine that often combing one's hair with this kind of combs can ease one's headache and sleeplessness and can refresh one's mind, combing one's hair with this kind of combs can also make one hear and see well." The Changzhou Comb Factory Co., Ltd was est. in 1951 and was originally developed from a cooperative production by dozens of private owners. Changzhou City in east China's Jiangsu Province has a long history of fine comb manufacturing tracing back more than1500 years. Making these combs involves 28 complicated steps uncluding cutting, boiling, drying, polishing and decorating. 2. Tibet Windhorse Prayer Flag Garland by Tibet Collection - "Includes 5 prayer flags hand printed in golden paint on sustainably harvested Himalayan Lokta paper with the Windhorse symbol and strung on natural string. The flags measure 2.5" square and the garland is 3.75' in length. These flags are hand-made in Nepal for a Fair Trade Group." Each color of the windhorse prayer flag represents a primary element: yellow = earth, red = fire, blue = space, green = water & white = air.
